William (Bill) Clarke in his beloved greenhouse. The son of one of the Island first gardeners, Harry Clarke, Clarke spent a lifetime of service keeping the gardens of first the Van Horne, later the Van Horne Island Club, and finally the Harbour Farm estates in top condition.
