Sacred to the memory of Elisha Shelton Andrews, second son of the Rev. Samuel Andrews, ?? first Rector of this Parish, who departed this life on the 26th May, 1833, in the 61st. year of his age. The deceased was appointed High Sheriff of this County on the 16th of April, 1805, which office he held until his death, a period of 28 years, upwards and during all which time he discharged his various official duties with ?? to the public and in a spirit of modest ?? and in kindness to all. He died universally esteemed and regretted after a long and lingering illness which he bore with patient resignation to the divine will and in the hope of a joyful resurrection. Also in the memory of Elizabeth Hannah, relict of Elisha Shelton Andrews, Esq. and a daughter of the late Richard S. Clarke first Rector of the Parish of St. Stephen, the County of Charlotte, who departed this life the 30th of June 1830 in the 61st year of his age. The third person to fill the honorable and responsible office of Sheriff in this County was Elisha Shelton Andrews. Though not a Loyalist he was the son of a loyalist, the Rev. Samuel Andrews, first Rector of the Episcopal Church in St. Andrews. His appointment to office was dated April 16th, 1805, and he continued in office until his death on July 26th, 1833, in the sixty-first year of his age. Sheriff Andrews' wife was a daughter of the Rev. Richard S. Clarke, who was the first Rector in the parish of St. Stephen.
